Adding interesting finishes and textures is a major part of designing a more tactile, useful space that's at the heart of the home.

1. Bold Colour Choices

Rich blues and forest greens are predicted to be the most popular kitchen colours in 2022.
Green kitchens are having something of a moment right now. As a colour we associate primarily with nature, this grounding shade has an incredible way of reconnecting us with our surroundings, creating moments of calm and positivity, which we all really need this year!

The trend for using bold, dark colours in the kitchen has been rumbling around for some time now but there has definitely been an expansion in the shades being used— with forest green and burgundy joining navy as top ranking colours. 2. INFRAME EFFECT KITCHENS

This year we have seen an increasing number of customers asking for in-frame kitchens.

Now going back 3 years ago, In-Frame kitchens were only available at the luxury end of the market, and so they stayed there, only to be brought out for the top end of the market.

However, things have started to change & In-Frame kitchens are starting to become more widely available to the mass market, thanks to door manufacturers who found the solution to expand the market!

In-Frame kitchens are still one of the most expensive types of kitchen you can buy, however their are ways to achieve the same look for much less money.

These are called "Inframe Effect" kitchens, they look almost identical to In-Frame kitchens but can cost up to half the price. Our two most popular Inframe Effect kitchens are Wakefield and Ellesmere.

4. COPPER & BRASS ACCESSORIES

As the craze for copper continues to take the interiors world by storm, we’ve waved goodbye to plainer metals, and are continuing to embrace the warmth of these materials instead.
Google has reported a 90% increase in searches for copper and brass homeware and lighting this year, so there’s no surprise that these will be the leading materials for 2022.

Copper started creeping onto the scene a couple of years ago as the metal of choice. This new kitchen trend is now a definite. It got started off by mixing a few copper accents into the kitchen with other metals.

Now, however, there has been a surge of copper offerings to challenge any other metal. Pendant lights, faucets, sinks, appliances, drawer handles or pulls…you name it…copper works.

and coppers are not the only metal to hit it big in 2022...

From knobs to pulls to handles, brass has made its way to the top of that list, sitting nice and comfortable beside Copper. Now we're starting to notice that the brass trend is no longer relegated to just hardware.

5. BROKEN PLAN

The broken-plan kitchen is the latest trend emerging in kitchen design world. All that kitchen hot-desking has, for many of us, ended our love affair with open-plan kitchens.

We're not talking about building walls back up, but maintaining an open feel whilst zoning areas by using half partitions, glass panels or disappearing pocket doors that offer the flexibility of closing up spaces when needed.

'Broken-plan' kitchens are all about zoning. While they retain the spacious feel of an open-plan design, they use screens, freestanding furniture and shelving to create distinct areas. These nooks in turn offer a zoned space for cooking, relaxing or entertaining.

Broken-plan kitchens are thriving as an alternative to our former firm favourite of open-plan, zoning certain areas off has now become quite essential.

Whilst knocking down walls and opening up living spaces has been the only way to go in the way of kitchen extensions and renovations for the last few decades, there's been a growing trend to re-define these spaces to form broken-plan living.
